A small description of my Occupation

I'm working as an Cost Estimator in Companies for construction from 1994 until today :

 

  • to calculate cost estimations for residential, public and industrial Buildings as well as smaller renovations and conservations also in form of PPP Projects valued from 2,5 until 50 million Euro
  • to calculate cost estimations (also in joint venture with other companies) in form of general contractor service as well as builders contractor service or PPP Projects (e.g. public school "Campus Nordbahnhof" in Vienna, Austria, builder: Porr-Group)
  • to calculate from time to time cost estimations for the international division of the Porr-Group (e.g. Office and Hotel complex „Old Mill“ in Belgrade, Serbia, builder: Porr-Group)

 

  • I'm working as an Senior Cost Estimator since September 2015 (Östu-Stettin GmbH)

 

A small description of my occupation in detail :

 

  • to selecting building projects from various public newspapers (e.g. "Wiener Zeitung" or "Bauzeitung") in Vienna and Lower Austria as recommendations for the managing section director and booking or picking them up
  • to make summarizing sheets of all tenders and orders in cooperation with the managing section director
  • to visit the first survey of old buildings, or new building sites
  • to make exact analysis of tenders
  • to start up the tender cost estimations with a "start meeting" with the managing section director and / or construction manager
  • to make the BOQ with an estimating software and calculate the bulks together with engineers
  • to calkulate the bulks with "Microsoft Excel" Software or "Auer Bausoftware" Software (mostly together with engineers)
  • to inquire, evaluate and negotiate offers from subcontractors with the "Microsoft Excel" software and / or the "Auer Bausoftware" software.
  • to estimate the true costs in the BOQ with the "Auer Bausoftware" software and with help of some projects which are in completition
  • to calculate the builders addition which will be add on the true costs in cooperation with the managing section director
  • to end the tender cost estimations with an "end meeting" with the managing section director and / or construction manager
  • to write down a covering tender-letter in cooperation with the managing section director and to prepare data mediums with the BOQ for the client
  • to end the cost estimations with a "last meeting" with the managing director and this be followed eventually by an post-processing calculation
  • to fill in the tender
  • to send the offers to the building owner, and make notes at building owner openings
  • to accompany the managing section director if he is negotiating the offer with the client for the contract (Cost Savings, Variations, Reschedulings, etc.)
  • to maintenance the cost estimating software (wages, construction material and machines)
